About Banner Day Bags

     The Artist:

Michael Sean Piper has been a printer for five years, and an artist for as long as he can remember.  He not only creates sturdy, one-of-a-kind bags, but also draws and paints in various styles and in various media.  Links at the bottom of this page will bring you to his other sites, where you can view some of his other creations.

Some of Michael's abstract works, done in oil pastel on canvas, were featured in the Gallery at Mill Falls on Lake Winnipesaukee and have also been available in local shops.  His passion for environmental responsibility led him to look for a way to utilize waste material from his job as a printer, leading to the creation of "Banner Day Bags."

The Bags:

Each bag is created using recycled banner vinyl which, until Michael found an alternative use for it, was headed for the landfill.  But now this waste material is being transformed into extremely rugged, waterproof, washable bags in all manner of shapes and sizes.  There's no telling what funky images may wind up as bags; it's all dependent upon what's getting thrown out!

Some suggestions that have been made for bag styles include gardener's bags, diaper bags, and laundry bags.  Watch for new designs to be unveiled in the near future.  If you have an idea for a style of bag that you'd like to see made, please feel free to e-mail your design to roll2d6@hotmail.com.  If Michael adopts your design as a Banner Day Bag, you'll receive a bag of your suggested style as a thank you.
